Septic System Services Descriptions:

Septic System Dye Testing:
A septic system dye test is an evaluation method to help determine if a septic system drain field is has failed. This is accomplished by flushing a colored dye into the system and running enough water to load the system, typically 30 minutes. Once this is done the inspector will walk around the area where the drain field is located and look for any lines that may be discharging on the surface and for any dye that has leached up out of the ground.
Note: This test is most effective over time and the dye may take several hours or even weeks to surface in a partially failed system.

Septic Tank Inspection:
Many septic tanks are made from concrete which decays when exposed to sewer gases. It is very important to have these tanks inspected on a regular basis to ensure they are not at a risk of collapse. Additionally the concrete baffles inside the tank are often the first to fail which will lead to an entire system failure as solids are allowed to drain into the leach system. During a septic tank inspection your inspector will examine the condition of the concrete tank and the baffles to ensure they are in a safe functioning condition. At this time the inspector will also determine if the tank is in need of being pumped by measuring the sludge and scum layers.
Note: Any required digging over two feet will be assessed a fee at the rate of fifty dollars per foot.

Septic System Sewer Scope Inspection:
Aseptic system sewer scope inspection is conducted with a high resolution color camera. This camera is used to examine the septic drain lines leading from the house to the tank and from the tank to the distribution box. This inspection will allow the inspector to determine if there are any blockages or breaks in the line. This will also allow a better inspection of the leach field distribution box which will allow a better evaluation of the system. The sewer scope also allows for the location of tanks when the location cannot be determined.
Note: this inspection is limited to 120 feet.

Sewer Scope Inspection:
The sewer scope inspection is conducted with a high resolution color camera. This camera is used to examine the sewer drain lines leading from the house to the public sewer. This inspection will allow the inspector to determine if there are any blockages or breaks in the line.
Note: this inspection is limited to 120 feet.
